Pleasant Valley Farms & Nature’s Gift
Simply Local. Simply Good. — trademarked, owned, and built to last.
THE SITUATION
Pleasant Valley Farms knew the private label business inside and out. They'd spent years supplying major grocery outlets: reliable, respected, and working behind other companies' labels the entire time. Pleasant Valley Farms itself had never been a consumer facing brand. When they decided to launch their own consumer product line, they needed something they'd never had to build before: a brand, from the ground up.
Not just a label. Not just a logo. A brand with a voice, a personality, real shelf presence, and the ability to compete credibly against established players in a crowded retail category. All of it built from scratch, while still supporting the long term growth of the parent business.
HOW WE APPROACHED IT
We built Nature's Gift as a standalone consumer brand, with its own voice and visual language, authentically connected to Pleasant Valley Farms's roots and values without ever needing to compete against a consumer brand of its own, since Pleasant Valley Farms had none. Nature's Gift is the front door the parent company never had.
The work included a cohesive retail identity system and a custom mascot that helps products stand out on shelf and gives shoppers something to remember. It also included not one but two trademarked lines that give the brand its personality: "Simply Local. Simply Good.", the core brand promise, and "We Love Our Local Chicks", a fun, memorable tagline that gives the brand a sense of humor and makes it stick in a category that rarely has one.
Packaging was designed as a system: consistent across the full product line, with enough flexibility to add new products down the line without starting over. The website was built to serve two very different audiences, retail shoppers and wholesale buyers, through one cohesive experience.
THE RESULT
Nature's Gift launched looking like it already belonged on the shelf next to established competitors, and in retail, that instant credibility is half the battle. With a clear identity, a memorable mascot, and a packaging system built to scale, the brand is positioned for real, ongoing retail growth rather than a one time launch bump.
Pleasant Valley Farms now owns consumer equity it never had before: two trademarked, wholly owned brand assets the business can build on for years, adding new products without paying licensing fees or starting from zero each time. That's the return on doing brand building right the first time.
