Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy
Built for continuity. Designed for discovery. Crafted to make every issue worth the read.
THE SITUATION
Trends shift. Audiences evolve. Content gets more complex. And yet, somehow, every issue of Interactions has to feel both familiar and fresh. That's the challenge MHD Group signed up for with the University of the Pacific's Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy.
Interactions is the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy's flagship publication, the place where groundbreaking research meets alumni pride, where institutional milestones share pages with stories about real people making real impact. It's also a publication that needs to do a lot of heavy lifting, issue after issue.
HOW WE APPROACHED IT
Our strategy is simple in principle, demanding in execution: build an editorial system strong enough to anchor any issue and flexible enough to surprise readers every time they open it.
That meant investing serious creative energy where it counts most, in feature story design, custom illustration, and concept-driven spreads that translate complex subjects into engaging reading experiences. The foundational structure handles consistency. We handle the moments that make people stop and actually read.
The school's marketing team brings both organization and creative range to every issue. Real collaboration, early concept involvement, honest feedback, and genuine creative partnership make every issue better than it would be otherwise. That trust hasn't stayed contained to one publication. It has extended into additional marketing materials for the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy throughout the year, and into work with other schools across the University of the Pacific system.
THE RESULT
The contract keeps getting renewed, not out of habit, but because the work keeps earning it. That kind of sustained loyalty from a university client is rare, and it's the clearest evidence there is that the partnership is doing exactly what it's supposed to do: reinforcing the School of Pharmacy's credibility, communicating its forward momentum, and giving readers something worth their time, issue after issue. It's also why that trust has carried MHD Group's work into other corners of the university.
That's what earns a client for a decade instead of a project.
