City of Modesto's Recycling Program

The City of Modesto Recycling Department exists to increase recycling awareness and create partnerships, promote sustainability to protect natural resources and improve environmental stewardship. It encourages citizens to adopt the reduce-reuse-recycle way of thinking in all aspects of their lives.

Recycling Characters

MHD Group collaborates with the recycling program coordinator on concepts for various programs and events. Over the past few years, we have created recycling characters that help announce these events or information to the public. These recycling characters were intended to add a fun element to the programs and their message, but have taken on a life of their own. Life-sized mascots now appear at schools and at other events in Stanislaus County. The recycling coordinator is working with students at local schools to name the popular characters.
